Stonework

Stonework

We offer stonework

We build new piers – and repair existing ones.
Construction of a new pier starts with berms at the bottom of the pier. We lay the pier core between the berms. We then lay the stones on top of the berms, so that the new stone pier and coast protection is very solid.

For example, we built the new north pier in Grenå Harbour. It is 1,300 metres long, and we did all the underwater berm and core work. In Køge Harbour we built a pier almost 2,000 metres long. In Ærøskøbing we built an entire stone pier using granite, and a small break wall in Vordingborg in connection with a port expansion.

Harbour floor protection
We often lay protective courses in ferry harbours, so that the harbour floor does not erode or undermine the bottom at the pile sheet wall. The procedure starts with excavation. We then lay Fibertex and place granite rubble on top. This provides effective harbour floor protection.

We repaired the harbour floor protection in Odden ferry harbour, and we laid new harbour floor protection in the Liim Fiord in the Hvalpsund-Sundsøre ferry harbours. Sea floor protection is also used for coast protection and near stone piers.
